I-League outfit East Bengal FC announced that Trevor James Morgan will return to the club ahead of the Federation Cup for his second stint as head coach.

“Morgan will join the side later this week but will only take over ahead of the Federation Cup,” said East Bengal football secretary Santosh Bhattacharya as quoted by PTI.

The 59-year-old Brit will replace Biswajit Bhattacharya, who resigned after East Bengal FC lost 3-1 to Bengaluru FC. Assistant coaches Sanjoy Majhi and Debjit Ghosh will take charge of the team for the remaining two I-League matches. Morgan will take over as coach in the Federation Cup.

The Englishman was Red & Gold brigade’s gaffer between 2010 and 2013, during which he won the Federation Cup and the IFA Shield, he led East Bengal to finish as runners-up in the I-League in 2012 as well as guiding the club to their maiden AFC Cup semi-final in 2013.

Morgan was the head coach of Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters FC in the second edition of ISL.
