They say never meet your heroes, but what if you give them a big hug instead?
That’s what a little boy did in the final moments of an NBA match in New Orleans on Monday night when he raced on court to embrace New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony.

It was an unlikely moment – the security staff at the Smoothie King Center might have some tough questions to answer – but thankfully it was nothing more than a kid showing his love for the nine-time NBA All-Star.
To Anthony’s credit, despite admitting he has been shocked by the incident, he reacted well as he calmly patted the child on the head before he sauntered off back to his seat.

The Knicks lost 99-91 and, with no chance of making the play-offs, perhaps Melo did just need a hug.
