The midnight will witness the clash of the titans, semi-finals between the World no.1 Novak Djokovic and the world no.5 Rafael Nadal is on 20th March’2016 at 1:30 am.
Head to Head
Djokovic and Nadal have an extremely interesting history. The duo has met each other 47 times in the past. Out of which Nadal has claimed victory in 23 matches while Djokovic has done it 24 times. Witnessing the history, both seem to have fair chances of winning the semi-finals. Nadal who has been performing quite well in the BNP Paribas open till now has not claimed a single title this year. On the other hand the serb has clinched victory in the Australian open this year.
Nadal who claimed an easy 6-4 6-3 victory against Kei Nishikori in his last match said, “I know Novak is playing unbelievable, so it’s so difficult but I am here to keep enjoying, keep trying my best, and keep playing with the right energy.”
He further added, “I feel myself strong mentally. I feel myself with the right energy. When that happens, the rest is a little bit less difficult, no?”. “I am able to fight for every ball. I am able to keep going during the whole match, believe in myself again, and that makes me play with more energy, less nerves. That’s so important for me, no? It’s the way I play during all my career, and that gives me a lot.”
