Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal withdrew from 2016 Singapore Open Super Series scheduled to commence in Singapore City from 12th April, 2016.

The 26-year-old shuttler will take rest after competiting in the All England Championship, India Open and Malaysia Open in 2016. Nehwal will look to bounce back in the upcoming Badminton Asia Championship scheduled to be held in Wuhan, China between 26th April and 1st May, 2016.

The World No. 8 will benefit from taking rest as it will not only help her to remain fit but also will provide her ample time to practice and prepare herself ahead of the Asian Championships.

“She wanted to take rest after the four tournaments. After the semi-final she decided to skip Singapore as she needs more practice. She is perfectly alright. In fact, she is playing well now,” said Saina’s father Harvir Singh Nehwal.
