The match between Pakistan and UAE will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, the underdogs in the competition will look to shake off the first couple of losses in the tournament and cause an upset against the young Pakistan squad.
UAE ensured their qualification in the Asia Cup by winning all their qualifying matches. However luck hasn’t been on their side in the tournament so far having lost both their matches against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The fact that they restricted Sri Lanka to a total of 129 and then Bangladesh to a total of 133 is enough indication that this team cannot be taken lightly. The UAE squad have their batsmen to blame after a horrific starts in their two matches so far, terrible collapse in the middle order in their second match, has resulted in throwing away chances to make an impact early on in the tournament.
Pakistan on the other hand has a good blend of both youngsters and experienced campaigners in their ranks, and there is no doubt that all the experience will come in handy and reduce the chances of any upsets happening. Led by Shahid Afridi, the green brigade has quite a few experienced batsmen who will look to post a big total on the board. Added to that is the presence of experienced as well as young wicket taking bowlers at their disposal who are capable of rattling even the best batting lineups in the world.
There is no doubt that the Pakistan team looks stronger on paper, but the UAE team has turned quite a few heads by their superb bowling and the Pakistan team will definitely not take their opponents likely. Altogether we are guaranteed of an exciting encounter between these two teams in the Asia Cup and many a cricket fan will on the lookout for an upset to take place in the 6th match of the tournament.
