Manchester United lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at the White Hart Lane on 10th April, 2016. Spurs are currently second in the Premier League table with 65 points from 33 matches and United are presently fifth in the Premier League points tally with 53 points from 32 fixtures.

But the defeat against Spurs was not the only thing which frustrated the United camp.Louis Van Gaal’s United delayed the 4pm kick-off by 30 minutes as they were stuck in traffic, eventually the fixture started its proceedings at 4:30pm.

Premier League guidelines clearly states that any football club who delays the kick-off by 15 minutes or less faces a fine of £5,000. But the Red Devils breached that rule by 30 minutes delay, which is totally not acceptable to the English FA. United will now be dealt under the provisions of Section W and will have to attend a formal disciplinary hearing.

With United currently being four points behind arch-rivals Manchester City who are occupying the last Champions League spot, they not only missed the opportunity to lessen the gap to one point but also got themselves involved in a disciplinary situation. The United camp would like to resolve the issue, as soon as possible, so that they can concentrate on the league.
