Sunrisers Hyderabad made a slightly unexpected move by playing Mustafizur Rahman in place of Trent Boult. While before the match experts would have been critical of this move made by David Warner but after the first inning it proved to be the only positive thing for SRH to take out from their bowling
Trent Boult was consistently being chosen over Dale Steyn during the last year’s IPL and SRH supporters would have been expecting him to feature in the Playing XI at least in their opening game but Warner had other ideas. The reason for Mustafizur’s choice must have been that he is a perfect bowler for the limited overs format. His bowling style suits the sub-continental conditions. In subcontinent, those pace bowlers have found success who do not depend on swing and have command over their cutters or slower deliveries.
With @trent_boult he is nice guy ? @SunRisers #OrangeArmy pic.twitter.com/OfjuhF14bu

Mustafizur has a very solid off cutter which is not picked by most of the batsmen since he doesn’t makes any change to his action while bowling his cutters and looks like his bowling his stock delivery. Since the Chinnaswamy Stadium is a sixes raining ground and the pitch is a flat surface, the selection of Rahman over Boult was a right decision made by Warner and it definitely proved as Rahman’s figures were 4-0-26-2 when the RCB scored a mammoth 227 runs for the loss of only four wickets.
