Surrey Cricket Club has announced that Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara will be part of their team till 2017.
In 12 matches that Sangakkara has played for the club in 2016, he has scored 1,039 runs at an average of 49.47. It includes a century and seven half-centuries.
Sangakkara was the second highest run scorer for Surrey only behind Rory Burns, who scored 1,144 runs in 16 matches.
Last year during the second test match against India, Sri Lanka’s leading run-scorer in Tests, Kumar Sangakkara decided to retire from international cricket. Sangakkara said goodbye to the 50 over format after the ICC World Cup 2015.

Sangakkara continues playing T20 cricket around the world. In the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016 he was part of Jamaica Tallawahs and his team won the CPL, beating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final.
