Jamie Vardy beats Gary Lineker's 84/85 record to set Twitter alight

Jamie Vardy was once again the main attraction as Leicester moved another step closer to Premier League glory with a 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Remarkably it was their fifth straight clean sheet, but Jamie Vardy’s second-half opener made history in itself.

The England striker became the first Leicester player since Gary Lineker to break the 20-goal mark in the top-flight, finishing the day with 21 after a stoppage-time second.

But Lineker, modest as ever, refused to steal the limelight

There’s no doubting who the man of the moment is though…

For all Vardy’s heroics this season, it brought an end to a bit of a lean spell

Maybe he is in fact the real deal?

But there’s no pleasing some people…

Even his fellow professionals are aboard the Vardy bandwagon
