Match 4 of the ongoing Indian Super League will witness Nelo Vingada’s managed Northeast United FC taking on runners up of the last edition FC Goa at their home ground in Guwahati. NEUFC in their last 2 editions against the Goan side have had disappointments at their share the most, but fresh from a win in the opening match against Kerala Blasters, the Highlanders will certainly be looking to continue their victory run.

Thus, Nelo Vingada, who is heading for his first major test in this year’s competition commented on the status and preparations of his side, with special mentions of their injured marquee Didier Zokora and the successful line-up that is going to be repeated this time as well.

Vingada on his counterpart Zico

“Zico is a great coach with vast experience and that his inexperience on the Indian subcontinent is not a factor to be considered. I was also new to Korean football but made my team champions there. History repeats itself but not always, we will do our best in the game and will make things difficult for the Goans” – Nelo Vingada

On the other hand, FC Goa has a lot to deal with if recoveries from injury are the most of your concerns. Under this, Gaurs’ best names like Robin Singh, Luciano Sabrosa, Denzil Franco, Gregory Amolin and Subhashish Roy Chowdhury would be seen missing from tonight’s game against the highlanders.

Injuries do not seem to worry Zico

"All our players need games now. It’s one thing to play in friendlies in preseason and another to play in a tournament. We have injuries but we are used to it. We are prepared to play now. Some of our players have knee injuries. In the process of recovering and not playing for a long time, when they started to play, they developed other problems. All the players who have come here with us are fit to play" – Zico
