Match Day 6 in the Hero ISL 2016 is expected to be a cracker of a game, with Delhi Dynamos FC ready to play their first match of the season against the reigning champions Chennaiyin FC. The team from the capital has won 2 matches against the Chennaiyins while 1 resulted in a draw and 1 was in the favor of the super machans.

Chennaiyin FC looking to register first win

The Chennai club waged a neck to neck battle against Atlético de Kolkata as the match ended in a 2 – 2 draw with an Iain Hume penalty four minutes from time spoiling the party for Super Machans. Marco Materazzi’s men will be looking to add their first win of the season to the tally.

Chennaiyin FC Team News:

Chennaiyin FC will be still be missing the services of Dhanachandra Singh who got himself injured during pre-season training. Chennaiyin will be depending on their midfield duo of Raphael Augusto and Rane who impressed everyone with their performance against Atletico de Kolkata. Although Chennaiyin didn’t win their opening encounter against Atletico, it is expected that Marco Materazzi will be selecting the same eleven as he did in the previous match.

Player to watch for:

Jayesh Rane

Scoring against Atletico de Kolkata in their opening fixture, this Mumbai-born Midfielder is an incredible talent. He helped the team by creating three assists in 2015 season. Super Machans will be hoping that he continues the goal scoring form for the club this season as well.

The lions are ready to roar

After crashing out in the semi-final last season, the Delhi Dynamos will be eyeing the title this time around and will be eager to make a mark right from the word go by registering a win against Chennaiyin. New coach Gianluca Zambrotta’s team became the first ISL outfit to play an International friendly against an English Premier League club when they played West Bromwich Albion FC in early September.

Delhi Dynamos Team News:

Delhi Dynamos will be without stars Alwyn George and Malswamzuala, who will continue their AFC Cup journey with Bengaluru FC in the second leg against Johor Darul Ta'zim. Delhi’s John Arne Riise and Hans Mulder signed for Chennaiyin FC this summer. Lion’s were missing their scoring flare last season and Gianluca Zambrotta will be looking forward to work on that front.

Player to Look for:

Marcelo Leite Pereira

Born in Brazil, striker Marcelo Leite Pereira is an imperious force in front of goal. The striker has played for Catania in Italy, Skoda Xanthi in Russia before moving to India. It will be interesting to watch him develop under Gianluca Zambrotta at the capital club.

Team Lineups:

Chennaiyin FC (4-4-2):

Kerr; Mohanraj, Riise, Mendy, Wadoo; Rane, Augusto, Mulder, Sahni; Succi, Jeje.

Delhi Dynamos FC (4-4-2):

Santana; Addy, Edathodika, Rocha, Chakraborty; Pelissari, Devada, Singh, Malouda; Gadze, Pereira.

Chennaiyin FC 1 – 1 Delhi Dynamos FC

Both the teams are looking even on the paper and are versatile in every department. We think that the match will result into one all draw for between the two teams.
