India Open: Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu progress to the last-16

Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal started her Yonnex India Open World Badminton Super Series campaign with a convincing win at the Siri Fort Sports Complex in New Delhi on 30th March, 2016.

Nehwal defeated Tanvi Lad in straight sets winning by 21-7, 21-13. The match lasted 34 minutes. With the win, the 26-year-old progressed to the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament.

Meanwhile, PV Sindhu also emerged victorious against the Italian Jeanine Cicognini. The 20-year-old won the fixture by 21-8, 21-8 in straight sets. Sindhu also qualified for the last-16 with the win.
