West Indies’ have proved yet again that they are just as entertaining off the field as they are on it.
It is fair to say the Windies players have enjoyed their run to this weekend’s World T20 final and – after knocking out hosts India in a stunning semi-final on Thursday – they got down to doing what they unquestionably do better than any other international team. Celebrate.
Chris Gayle’s Instagram post has already received almost 15,000 likes after the hard-hitting batsman – who has dubbed himself the ‘Universe Boss’ – and his team-mates danced around the buffet in their changing room at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
And they didn’t stop there.
Dwayne Bravo, who proved himself handy with kitchen utensils in the first post, has inspired the Windies’ celebrations through the tournament following the release of his ‘Champion’ song and accompanying fist-pumping dance.
And the all-rounder decided a rendition alongside Gayle was in order after the semi-final win.
If you thought they wrapped up the celebrations after leaving the ground – they do have a big final to prepare for after all – then you’d be wrong.
When they got to the hotel the party vibe was still very much in full swing as they danced and sung their way past a mass of fans who had awaited their arrival.
Even when some fans got past the barricades to try and take selfies with the players they were unflustered, with Gayle laughing off the extra attention before engaging in another dance routine alongside Bravo and Darren Sammy in front of the hotel lifts.
Raw Vision: Imagine if the Windies win it all!
If the final comes down to a dance-off on Sunday, England have no chance.
