Virat Kohli sparks at Eden Gardens, gifts India a win over Pakistan
Heroics by the graceful batsman Virat Kohli again worked for Indian cricket team as his impressive fifty and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s finishing skills, led the Men-in-blue to a 6-wicket win over Pakistan, in a low-scoring match on Saturday.
It looked like a nightmare when scoreboard showed India on 23-3 in first 5 overs. Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli kept the hopes alive for the spectators at Eden Gardens. Their 61-run partnership stand for the 4th wicket was the icing on the cake, in India’s chase to victory.

Although the all-rounder from Punjab, Yuvraj departed before in the 12th over. With a six and four, he scored 24 runs off 23 balls to take India to a comfortable position. The spectators at Kolkata witnessed an impressive yet responsible innings by Yuvraj as he steadied the innings after early blows.
On the other hand, Indian vice-captain Virat Kohli looked in Midas touch as he scored an unbeaten knock of 55 runs. With a notable strike rate of 148.64, the 27-year-old Delhi chap struck one six and 7 fours.

“You need a calm head to focus in the game and that worked for India today. Yuvraj came out, weathered the storm on field and scored a few. He’s feeling confident now,” said Kohli in the post-match conference.
Including today’s knock, Kohli has scored 299 runs in the 7 T20I matches he played against the arch-rivals. Although the elegant top-order batsman looked struggling in his last few matches, Kohli was a star in Asia Cup as he scored 153 runs in the 4 innings he batted.
