Normally when sitting down to watch a football match, you’re pretty clear in your mind as to who you want to win.
That won’t be the case when we watch the second leg of Manchester City’s Champions League quarter-final with Paris St German, which is tantalisingly poised at 2-2. We’re just so conflicted about this one…
Here’s why.
We always try to support Premier League clubs in Europe if we can…
…but there’ll always a be a bit of us that finds super-rich Premier League clubs like City hard to love…
…but then PSG are even richer so maybe it would be better if they lost…
…but we want as much Zlatan as possible…
…but we want City to get through so they can face Bayern Munich and their future manager Pep Guardiola…
…but it would be hilarious if Guardiola had to manage in the Europa League next season…
…but we’d like to see Manuel Pellegrini go out on a high…
…but you can’t really support a club who treats a manager the way they’ve treated Pellegrini…
…but if City progressed and their fans got the chance to boo the Champions League anthem at the final, it would be glorious…
…but there’d probably still be empty seats…
…but we want to keep that coefficient up so the Premier League keeps its fourth Champions League spot…
…so on balance, we probably just about want City to win. Just about.
