Eden Hazard was undoubtedly the best player in the Premier League last season (2014-2105). He made a huge impact towards Chelsea’s title march which proved to be decisive come end of the season, where Chelsea FC lifted the Premier League title and Hazard was rightly declared as the winner of the PFA award. Whereas this season (2015-2106) he has been poor and hasn’t managed to provide the results he once did.

Eden Hazard showed pure quality and confidence last season. He netted 14 goals and assisted 9 times, having played all 38 games for Chelsea showing high fitness and sheer ambition. Where as in the current season he has so far played just 21 out of 32 games for the Blues and hasn’t managed to get the ball at the back of the net even once. He has also managed just 3 assists which are thoroughly poor as compared to last season.
He has had an unsteady run this season and has been sidelined due to injuries making him unavailable for the important games. Last season he was Chelsea’s go-to man, whereas this season he just been an ordinary part of a depleted Chelsea squad.
Potential reasons for the poor run in form
This season there has been a lot of speculation regarding Hazard’s career, linking him to various clubs across Europe causing immense disturbance for the player. It has caused him to divert his mind and focus away from the task at hand, which is Chelsea FC as of now.

One year later – Real Madrid agree £32m deal for Eden Hazard.
ONLY CHELSEA ?
He has also been blamed for being amongst a few players who turned against José Mourinho leading to the end of the manager’s second spell at Stamford Bridge. Speculation is still on-going whether Hazard was part of the event, but his poor run in form shows he wanted the manager out.
The impact of Hazard’s poor form upon his club
Hazard’s performance last season ensured Chelsea won the premier league and even fought hard in the Champions league. They eventually lost to PSG in the Round of 16 but managed a tough fight, with Eden Hazard scoring in the 96th minute thus taking the game to extra time where Chelsea conceded another away goal in the 114th minute leading to the Blues exit.
Whereas, this season Chelsea have been poor in all competitions. They are currently 10th in the league, with no chance of qualifying in next year’s Champions League. In, the Champions League this time they lost 2-1 in both legs to PSG with Eden Hazard unable to play the full 90 minutes in either fixture.

Eden Hazard has had a poor season which has directly reflected in Chelsea’s poor run in form. One season Eden Hazard won the PFA award, and in the following season Hazard hasn’t even managed to score a goal for Chelsea in the Premier League. The fate of the player is still in jeopardy, but irrelevant of what happens it is important for the player to gain his confidence and provide results which will see him being compared to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi once again.
