Brocchi touted to be named next Milan boss

Falling apart like a pack of cards and looking incessantly drained as the season comes to a close, AC Milan are in familiar territory. Investment in the last summer transfer window hasn’t yielded the results management and fans had hoped for.

Rumors of unrest in the dressing room haven’t helped either, as some players have been found wanting in motivation and desire. The underwhelming position in the Serie A standings has brought increased pressure on Serbian manager Sinisa Mihajlovic. Touted by many to leave at the end of the season, the Serb has seemed helpless as his side has crumbled at various stages this campaign. A new list of mangers expected to be at San Siro next season is already doing the rounds.

Candidates like Marcello Lippi and Sassuolo’s Eusebio Di Francesco are rumored to be on Milan’s radar, though former Milan midfielder Cristian Brocchi appears to the favorite to take over next season. Manager of the Milan youth team, Brocchi is well versed with the inner workings of the club and has reportedly gained favor with the top brass of the club, namely owner Berlusconi and CEO Galliani.

As another season ends, the hope of doing well in the next only seems apparent and Milan fans will be praying for nothing different.
