India lose by 7 wickets, as Hardik Pandya and Jadeja give away 10+ runs per over at Wankhede

India lost to West Indies by 7 wicket and were ousted from the mega-event on Thursday. Virat Kohli struck a dazzling knock of 89 runs and later claimed a wicket to put up a strong fight at Wankhede Stadium, though Lendl Simmons’ 82-run knock pushed West Indies to the final.

Regardless of having a strong total of 192 runs to defend, Indian young-blood pacer Hardik Pandya bowled expensively today. West Indies chose an attacking route to chase the target as they rebuked the Gujarati lad with some solid strokes.

Conceding 43 runs in 4 overs, the 22-year-old pacer proved expensive for the Indians. Pandya lost his rhythm as he failed to take a single wicket and was struck for 3 sixes and 4 fours. In his previous matches in the tournament, Pandya took 1, 2 and 2 wickets against Pakistan, Bangladesh and Australia respectively.

Star spinner from Saurashtra, Ravindra Jadeja too failed to amaze the Indian fans today. Struggling for a breakthrough, Jadeja was the most expensive bowler today as he conceded 48 runs in 4 overs. However he claimed a wicket and two respectively against Pakistan and Bangladesh earlier.Needless to say, he seemed anxious while bowling to Caribbean army.
